Building My First Mobile App with AI

Hey, inkko here!
Day 2 of building my first mobile app, and things are finally starting to take shape. Oh, and my app finally has a name, it's going to be called HabitDotz 👀

Apple Developer Account Struggles
If you've ever set up an Apple Developer account, you probably know the pain. Between verification steps, D-U-N-S number issues, and weird Apple portal glitch, it took way longer than expected. But once everything was set up, I was finally able to get my boilerplate running without issues.
Since I struggled with the setup, I followed up with Robin from Native Express to suggest a few doc improvements. Hopefully, it'll make life easier for anyone else starting from scratch 🙌
First Draft of the App
After setting up my dev environment, I moved on to the first version of the app. I started with a simple prompt to guide the AI:
Alright so we're working with a boilerplate here, you can find all the details in cursor rules. I'd like to build a habit tracker app. This should be the main screen (attached screenshot) Let me know if you have any questions | ![]() |
Within two hours, I went from a blank screen to a basic habit tracker UI

Theming & Structure
The next challenge? Theming. Right now, everything works, but I want to ensure that all colors are managed in a single file so I can switch themes easily. My plan is to:
Define all theme colors as variables.
Ensure every UI component pulls from these theme variables.
This should be done by Day 3 or 4.

Bonus content
If you want to play with the quote generator I built with Bolt.new here’s the link:
We're losing HOURS building quotes, only to get ghosted.
So I built an instant quote tool using @boltdotnew. Now, clients can generate their own pricing and contact us only if they’re serious.
I might add an AI chat next, so they can describe their project and get a fully… x.com/i/web/status/1…
